- A goldendoodle, just two years old, left behind at a Las Vegas airport, has been adopted by one of the officers involved in his rescue.
- The dog’s previous owner was apprehended after tying him to a JetBlue ticket counter.
- Officer Skeeter Black’s family was already pre-approved by the same rescue organization to adopt a goldendoodle.
A young goldendoodle abandoned at Harry Reid International Airport has now found a loving home with one of the officers involved in his rescue efforts.

The Las Vegas police department announced that Officer Skeeter Black and his family have adopted the two-year-old pup, who has been renamed JetBlue after the airline where he was abandoned.
The dog was left behind by his previous owner, Germiran Bryson, after she was informed that she couldn’t board her flight without proper documentation for a service animal. Instead of ensuring care for the dog, she chose to leave him behind.
“What started as a tragic act of abandonment has transformed into a remarkable illustration of compassion, teamwork, and community collaboration,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department shared on Instagram.
The Leash of Fate
Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas, which looked after JetBlue since his rescue on February 2, reported an overwhelming response with hundreds of applications for adoption after the sad news of his situation was shared on February 18. However, it was clear where his future lay.
Police noted that the Black family had been pre-approved for the adoption of a goldendoodle several months before JetBlue’s arrival at the airport.
Photos and videos from the department showcase the moment Officer Black and his family visited the rescue to complete the adoption process. JetBlue greeted them enthusiastically, as if he had known he would find his forever home.
New Beginnings

After Bryson left JetBlue at the ticket counter, she attempted to reach her flight’s departure gate. When police approached her, she claimed the dog had a tracking chip and would find her again.
Initially, the officers offered to escort Bryson back to her dog and issue her a citation. However, she became uncooperative, leading to her arrest when she resisted efforts to detain her.
She was taken into custody and charged with three misdemeanors, including animal abandonment and resisting a public officer.
The Las Vegas police expressed joy over JetBlue’s transition to a home where he is cherished.
“Today marks the beginning of JetBlue’s new adventure, this time surrounded by those who came to his aid when he needed it the most,” the department stated. “Bon voyage, JetBlue, and welcome to a life filled with love from Officer Black and his family.”
