DraftKings is set to launch its sports betting platform in Missouri on December 1, 2025, under a temporary direct mobile license that permits the company to operate statewide without needing to partner with a casino or professional sports team.
The Missouri Gaming Commission approved DraftKings for the temporary license earlier this year. This approval allows the company to function independently, making Missouri the 29th state in the U.S. to host DraftKings’ online sports betting services. DraftKings also operates in Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and Ontario.
Upon launch, eligible Missouri customers will have access to a variety of betting options, including same-game parlays, in-game betting, and promotional odds. Additionally, responsible gaming features will be integrated, such as My Stat Sheet for tracking activity and My Budget Builder to help users manage their limits and reminders.
“DraftKings is designed for dedicated sports fans, making Missouri an exciting state for us to enter, thanks to its vibrant sports culture and multiple professional teams,” stated Greg Karamitis, Chief Revenue Officer of the company. “This is an exhilarating time for sports enthusiasts with the NFL, NBA, NHL, college football, and college basketball seasons all underway, and we are eager to enhance the experience for Missouri sports fans responsibly with our premium online sportsbook.”
Despite the direct license allowing DraftKings to operate without local partnerships, the company has existing relationships with teams in the region. Since 2022, DraftKings has been the Official Sports Betting Operator for the Kansas City Chiefs and has recently been named the Official Sports Betting and Daily Fantasy Sports Operator for the St. Louis Blues.
To celebrate the launch, DraftKings will host a ceremonial first bet event on December 1 at The Palladium in St. Louis. Notable Missouri sports figures such as Tony Gonzalez, Isaac Bruce, and Brett Hull are expected to attend, with remarks from Missouri House Speaker Jonathan Patterson.
DraftKings is also committed to supporting local initiatives, including a $50,000 donation to the Veterans Community Project, which focuses on reducing veteran homelessness in Missouri. The funds will contribute to the organization’s Tiny Homes initiative, aimed at providing transitional housing and services to support veterans in achieving independent living.
Starting December 1, eligible users in Missouri can download the DraftKings Sportsbook app on iOS and Android to access betting markets and responsible gaming tools.
