DraftKings Predictions is set to follow in the footsteps of its rivals in the prediction market by offering traders the ability to consolidate sports contracts into a single unit. This concept resembles a parlay in the realm of sports betting. However, the prediction market insists that engaging in trades on sports events does not equate to sports betting, referring to this consolidation feature as “Combos.”
On Monday, DraftKings Predictions officially launched Combos, employing this feature initially during the active NBA Playoffs. Traders can now combine various contracts related to NBA game outcomes into a single position.
“DraftKings Predictions has unveiled Combos, empowering customers to merge multiple independent contracts into one position for enhanced flexibility and interactive experiences across sports, including the NBA Playoffs,” the prediction market platform stated to Casino.org.
“This rollout is a continuation of the advancements outlined in DraftKings’ Q1 2026 earnings report, with further updates anticipated shortly,” the announcement elaborated.
DraftKings Enhancing Online Operations
At their first-quarter earnings reveal, DraftKings shared ambitious plans for the Super App, an all-encompassing mobile platform that will integrate DraftKings’ iGaming, sports betting, prediction market, and lottery courier functionalities into one accessible service.
The functionalities of the Super App will vary based on the user’s mobile location. For instance, a user traveling from Maryland to Pennsylvania will gain access to the iGaming options pertinent to that area.
DraftKings’ prediction market permits the company to engage in sports transactions where sportsbook operations are prohibited. Following the second Trump administration, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has enabled trades on sports through these prediction markets.
Dissenters argue that the CFTC is allowing prediction markets to circumvent state gambling regulations. The CFTC, however, defends that such platforms aid in public planning, forecasting, hedging, and utilizing perceptions regarding future events.
Additionally, the American Gaming Association contends that trading sports event contracts is synonymous with sports betting.
“Illegal betting through sports event contracts increasingly threatens legal operators regulated by state and tribal laws. It’s evident the authorized industry considers this a risk and will persist in advocating for our industry’s integrity,” said AGA President and CEO Bill Miller.
Last fall, both DraftKings and FanDuel exited their membership in the AGA, a decision DraftKings attributed to its evolving business strategy, including the integration of prediction markets.
Combining Predictions
Prediction markets present a different revenue model for sportsbook entities like DraftKings compared to standard sports betting. Rather than operating as the house, a prediction market generates income by charging fees for facilitating peer-to-peer trades.
Recently, DraftKings revised its transaction fees. Users now incur a fee of $0.01 for each share acquired on contracts priced between $0.01 and $0.19 and those within the $0.97 to $0.99 range. For contracts priced between $0.20 and $0.96, DraftKings Predictions charges two cents per share.
