Donald Trump is making headlines in Las Vegas this weekend, in a way he likely didn’t anticipate.
A gigantic 43-foot statue resembling the Republican presidential candidate, completely nude, now stands over Interstate 15 en route to Utah.
Despite its imposing size, one detail about the statue isn’t so impressive – the miniature representation of Donald Trump Jr.
The art piece, known as “Crooked and Obscene,” aims to make a bold statement about the transparency and vulnerability of political figures.
Constructed from foam-covered metal rebar and weighing around 6,000 lbs, the statue is built as a marionette suspended from a crane, with only its arms in motion thus far.
The enormous nude Trump sculpture was clandestinely erected at 13460 Apex Harbor Lane in North Las Vegas, in a parking lot adjacent to Love’s Storage Solutions.
Joshua Monroe, a horror film and haunted house monster designer, is a likely suspect in creating the statue. Monroe was previously commissioned by art collective INDECLINE to create smaller nude foam Trump statues, titled “The Emperor Has No Balls,” in the lead-up to the 2016 election.
These 8-feet-tall statues were installed without permits in several cities but were promptly taken down by authorities. The creators of the current statue plan to take it on a “Crooked and Obscene Tour” across various American cities before Election Day.
