This year’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E) will showcase keynote addresses from two influential figures in the gaming industry: Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts International, and Peter Jackson, president of Flutter, the parent company of FanDuel.
G2E, scheduled for Oct. 7-10 at the Venetian Expo, is renowned as the largest gaming industry convention worldwide. It typically attracts 25,000 industry professionals to Las Vegas for panel discussions, educational sessions, and exhibits by over 350 gaming manufacturers.
Hornbuckle and Jackson, both active in the sports betting sector as MGM co-owns BetMGM, will engage in a joint interview conducted by CNBC’s Contessa Brewer on Oct. 8.
Their discussion at G2E is anticipated to focus on how their companies have navigated recent global economic changes, and the insights gained from their triumphs and setbacks. The subsequent Q&A session could extend for an hour or more.
“Peter and Bill are esteemed figures in the gaming industry whose perspectives will shed light on the industry’s direction and pave the way for the ideas and innovations that will be explored at this year’s G2E,” stated Bill Miller, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association, the organizer of G2E.
“Gaming is experiencing unprecedented growth in the U.S. and globally,” Miller added. “The AGA and our partners at RX eagerly anticipate welcoming the global gaming community at G2E to address a broad range of industry priorities – both in our keynotes and educational sessions, and on the expo floor.”
Hornbuckle’s speech at last year’s G2E was noteworthy as it marked the first time he publicly addressed the ransomware attack that MGM endured a month prior, resulting in a $100 million setback.
This year, Hornbuckle is expected to discuss MGM’s venture into Abu Dhabi, where it recently applied for a casino license despite not having any ongoing construction projects there (the nearest being in Dubai, 85 miles north).
The four-day event commences with over 100 educational sessions on Oct. 7.
Registration for G2E, exclusively available to gaming industry professionals, is still open here.
