Netflix has just announced an exciting golf tournament to commence the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend next month. This tournament, known as “The Netflix Cup,” will feature a thrilling 18-hole clash between Formula 1 racers and PGA stars. Set to take place at the prestigious Wynn Golf Club on November 14, this event promises to be an unprecedented spectacle.
As the first-ever live sporting event organized by Netflix, “The Netflix Cup” signifies the streaming channel’s ambition to venture into the world of sports entertainment.
The tournament will witness four teams in a thrilling eight-hole match, each consisting of one F1 driver and one PGA pro. Only the top two teams will have the opportunity to battle for the coveted title on the final hole.
High-Profile Matchups
According to a Netflix press release, notable F1 racers including Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris, and Carlos Sainz are confirmed to participate. They will take on renowned PGA mainstays such as Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Thomas in a swing-for-swing showdown.
Many of these athletes have already gained fame through their appearances on popular Netflix series like “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” and “Full Swing.” Expect more big names to be announced as preparations progress.
