Gemini’s presence in crypto prediction markets grows with new Apex brokerage agreement

Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions have signed an agreement to expand the distribution of regulated crypto prediction markets through brokerage customers, as announced by the companies.

As part of the agreement, Gemini Titan, a subsidiary of Gemini platform, will be the exclusive CFTC-regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant (FCM).

Brokerages utilizing Apex’s FCM will utilize Gemini for execution and clearing, enabling them to offer crypto event contracts without the need to establish their own connections to a prediction-market exchange.

The collaboration will also provide Apex with the flexibility to cooperate with Gemini on sports, economic, and financial-market contracts on a non-exclusive basis.

We believe that predictions are the future of markets, and this strategy allows us to expand our offering and open access to valued partners like Apex as demand for event contracts grows,” stated Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss.

Gemini has been actively developing the regulatory framework for its prediction-market business. Gemini Titan obtained a Designated Contract Market license from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in December 2025, enabling it to operate a regulated derivatives exchange and offer prediction trading.

In April, Gemini subsidiary Gemini Olympus acquired a CFTC Derivatives Clearing Organization license, empowering the company to handle clearing and settlement for Gemini Titan in-house.

“Leveraging over a decade of experience in constructing and operating a regulated platform for crypto, a new and emergent asset class, we deliberately opted to build our predictions platform internally,” Winklevoss explained.

Prediction markets have been experiencing rapid growth, with monthly trading volume on leading platforms Kalshi and Polymarket nearly reaching $24 billion by April, up from under $5 billion in September 2025, according to Pew Research Center. Sports, politics, and cryptocurrency have emerged as major categories.

The planned partnership builds upon an existing relationship between Gemini and Apex. In July, Gemini introduced commission-free stock trading for select U.S. customers, with Apex Clearing Corp. serving as custodian and clearing broker.

“This partnership with Gemini focuses on bridging traditional finance with the future,” stated Travis McGhee, Global Head of Digital Markets at Apex Fintech Solutions. “Our brokerage clients gain regulated access to crypto event contracts without needing to build the infrastructure themselves.”

The companies anticipate finalizing the details of the collaboration in the upcoming weeks, fueling innovation and growth in the prediction-market sector.

Gemini has also been enhancing its prediction-market technology, unveiling an AI-powered Command Center in May that offers market summaries, sentiment analysis, and personalized signals within its application.
