Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has introduced three innovative modules along with an updated version of an existing module for its Gaming Security Framework (GLI-GSF), enhancing the industry’s pioneering cybersecurity standard specifically designed for gaming.
The latest releases feature Module 3: Vendor Controls, Module 4: Land-based Gaming Controls, and Module 5: Online Gaming Controls. Additionally, GLI upgraded Module 1: Common Controls to version 1.1. This framework aims to establish a uniform approach to cybersecurity within both physical and digital gaming operations.
“Cyber threats pose an ongoing risk to gaming operations, while the costs of cybersecurity insurance are continuously increasing,” stated James Maida, GLI President and CEO. “The Gaming Security Framework addresses these pressing issues and effectively fills a significant void in the realm of cybersecurity for the gaming sector, as prior to its introduction, there was no specific cybersecurity standard tailored for gaming.”
“GLI’s initiative with the Gaming Security Framework is designed to meet the needs of regulators, operators, suppliers, and players globally,” he added.
Each module within the GLI-GSF embeds industry-leading practices and is revised according to feedback from stakeholders. The framework has been developed collaboratively with thousands of gaming professionals, providing foundational security guidelines that regulators can implement and gaming operators can adopt to reinforce their defenses.
This framework delivers extensive guidance for bolstering security across all facets of gaming operations, enabling organizations to optimize their resources in terms of both time and costs, while enhancing their defenses against cyber threats.
