Horseshoe Lake Charles Hotel & Casino in Louisiana is looking to improve its business by bringing in celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Ramsay’s presence is expected to bring a boost in revenue to the riverboat casino owned by Caesars Entertainment.
Horseshoe Lake Charles, located just north of Lake Charles and the city’s other casinos, has faced challenges since opening in December 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Laura forced the closure of the casino for an extended period of time. Now, Caesars Entertainment is hoping that the addition of Gordon Ramsay’s renowned steakhouse will attract more customers to the property.
Caesars Entertainment rebranded the former Isle of Capri to Horseshoe as part of a merger with Eldorado Resorts. The casino floor was also relocated inland as part of the changes.
The revamped Horseshoe Lake Charles features 252 refreshed hotel rooms and a new casino floor with various amenities, including a sportsbook and a World Series of Poker Room.
Gordon Steak
Despite its opening, Horseshoe Lake Charles has not achieved the desired gaming revenue. In comparison, neighboring casinos such as Golden Nugget and L’Auberge have reported significantly higher monthly wins. The geographic distance between Horseshoe and these competitors may be a contributing factor to the difference in revenue.
To increase its attractiveness to visitors and locals, Caesars Entertainment will be introducing Gordon Ramsay Steak at Horseshoe Lake Charles next month. This lakeside restaurant will offer a selection of Ramsay’s famous dishes during specific dinner hours.
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay expressed his excitement about opening his first restaurant in Louisiana, stating his love for the state and his anticipation of welcoming guests to his namesake eatery at the Horseshoe.
Gordon Ramsay’s steakhouse at Horseshoe Lake Charles is set to open in the near future. This will join Ramsay’s portfolio of restaurants across the US, with several located in Caesars resorts. Ramsay also operates a Hell’s Kitchen at Foxwoods in Connecticut.
Nearby ‘MasterChef’
Gordon Ramsay’s presence in Lake Charles will mark the second appearance of a “MasterChef” personality in town. Aarón Sánchez, a judge on the reality television series, operates the Johnny Sánchez restaurant at L’Auberge.
Based on the popular British series, “MasterChef” has featured Gordon Ramsay as a regular judge for all 13 seasons in the US. The addition of Ramsay and Sánchez to the dining scene in Lake Charles further solidifies the town’s culinary reputation.
With the arrival of Gordon Ramsay Steak at Horseshoe Lake Charles, the casino hopes to attract more customers and improve its revenue performance in the competitive Louisiana gaming market.
