World Poker Tour Comes to Grand Casino Liechtenstein for Exciting Tournament Series
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is making a statement in Liechtenstein, proving that the anti-gambling sentiment has no influence on its global presence. The highly reputable WPT is set to host an exhilarating poker tournament series at the prestigious Grand Casino Liechtenstein, starting at the end of this month.
The charming European principality, situated between Switzerland and Austria, will serve as the backdrop for an incredible gathering of poker enthusiasts and professional players eager to display their skills and test their luck on the poker tables. The WPT Prime Lichtenstein series kicks off on August 30 and runs until September 11.
Earlier this year, the anti-gambling group known as IG VolksMeinung tried to ban casinos in Liechtenstein. However, their efforts to gain public support for the initiative were unsuccessful.
Exciting Tournament Schedule with Impressive Prizes
The Main Event, expected to be the highlight of the tournament, is sure to attract the most attention. With a buy-in of only CHF1,100 (US$1,251) and a massive CHF1 million (US$1.13 million) guaranteed prize pool, it’s no surprise.
The Main Event features six starting flights on September 6. Day 2 will commence on September 10, followed by the final table on September 11.
For players looking for warm-up events or more affordable options, the tournament offers a variety of choices. These include:

These online satellite events, known as Passport Qualifiers, have a buy-in of just $110 and take place every Saturday and Sunday. Winners receive a buy-in package valued up to $1,500, depending on the event and location.
Closer to Home: WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas
For US players unable to attend the Liechtenstein tournament or preferring a closer destination, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) presents an exciting option. The WSOP Paradise series will take place at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, from December 3 to 14.
This inaugural series is expected to become a regular fixture, offering 15 bracelet events and over $50 million in guaranteed cash prizes.
Event buy-ins range from $800 for the Flip & Go, which has no set prize pool, to $100,000 for the Ultra High Roller event, guaranteeing $5 million in prizes.
The Main Event is a $5,000 buy-in tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $15 million. The WSOP hopes for strong attendance to avoid an overlay. Additionally, there’s a $10 million guarantee for the $25,000 buy-in High Rollers Championship, along with several events offering guarantees of $1 million and $2 million.
WSOP has partnered with GGPoker to host the series and will be offering Main Event packages through its online poker portal. A total of 1,000 packages will be available, providing accommodation for 11 nights, meal passes, and the $5,000 Main Event buy-in.
