When you pay to play at one of America’s most expensive golf courses, only to find your concentration challenged by the kooky images flashing across the world’s largest LED screen next door, you have a choice…

Be teed off, or try making the funniest video of the Sphere to date.

Vancouver sports podcaster Joseph Demare, known professionally as “Joey Cold Cuts,” took the latter approach when playing at the Wynn Golf Club recently. And he totally succeeded.

Demare either waited for the perfect moment to shoot a video in which it seemed as if the Sphere’s emoji face actively trolls his golf shot, or his friend happened to be filming him golfing at an uncannily perfect time.

“Go towards the right edge of the right bunker,” the friend calls out before Demare swings.

“Oh, I don’t think it likes it,” Demare says of the 366-foot-tall yellow emoji after its beady eyes appear to lock on and follow his tee shot. When the ball lands, the emoji issues a stink eye.

“It doesn’t like it at all!” Demare declares, laughing.

Since being posted on Monday, the video has earned 24K views on Instagram, where Demare captioned it with: “You know you suck when even the [Sphere] is trolling you after your tee shot.”

Then the video received attention from the popular Las Vegas Locally Twitter account, where it garnered an additional 1.5 million views and an even funnier caption: “Wynn Golf Club is finally worth the $700 greens fee.”

The Wynn Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Fazio. Its greens fees are actually $800 per person, which isn’t funny at all.
