A devastating hit-and-run incident on Super Bowl Sunday has traumatized a family visiting Las Vegas from the United Kingdom. Gavin Caci, a 28-year-old Las Vegas local who claims to be a club promoter, has been accused of colliding with a mother and her young daughter before driving away from the scene.

On February 8, 2026, at around 7:35 p.m., Las Vegas police reported that Caci crashed his grey 2026 Tesla Model Y into the rear of a Chevrolet Trax, driven by 35-year-old Yurdenia Velazco-Hernandez, who had stopped at a red light near Harmon Avenue and Audrie Lane.

The impact redirected Caci’s Tesla onto the south sidewalk of eastbound Harmon, where it struck a family of three from the UK who were waiting to cross the street.

A 43-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter, who was in a stroller, are currently receiving treatment for injuries that are described as “potentially life-threatening” at University Medical Center. Emergency Medical Services initiated “life-saving” interventions on scene. The child’s 38-year-old father and Velazco-Hernandez endured only minor injuries.

In a shocking turn of events, Caci, the sole individual unharmed, attempted to flee the scene but was pursued by a witness who followed him to the Topgolf parking lot located at 4627 Koval Lane. There, police apprehended Caci, noting he exhibited signs of impairment.

Caci faces serious charges, including:

• Two counts of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm
• Two counts of reckless driving
• Four counts of failing to stop at the scene of an accident

During a court session on Monday morning, Caci was ordered to be held without bail. His defense team was given additional time to review the evidence, with his next court appearance set for Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
