The Black Hawk Police Department says a three-month-old baby died inside an Ameristar Casino Hotel room. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing.

The Black Hawk Police Department (BHPD) responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting the incident involving the baby at the Ameristar location on Richman Street.

Officers and emergency medical responders tried to save the infant, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital,” the BHPD release stated.

An investigation is currently underway to determine what happened in the casino hotel room where the tragic incident occurred.

Assistance from State Resources

The BHPD has sought help from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

The CBI assists local, county, and state agencies with investigative and forensic services, especially in complex cases like homicides.

The authorities are working to uncover the events that led to the baby’s passing, without revealing specific details about the room or floor where the incident took place.

Ameristar Black Hawk is a popular casino with a rich history in mining. The facility is managed by Penn Entertainment, offering various gaming options and luxurious accommodations.
