ECL Gaming has proudly reopened the former Irene’s Casino in Pahrump, now known as Jackpot Joanie’s. This establishment is a part of ECL Gaming’s extensive Southern Nevada casino network, boasting over twenty locations throughout the region. The acquisition of the property occurred in late 2023.
The extensive renovations, which took several months, involved various building expansions, upgrades, and the introduction of a dedicated non-smoking gaming zone, as reported by the Pahrump Valley Times. The majority of the original staff from Irene’s have been retained, and the dining venue has been rebranded as Irene’s Corner Café, serving both cherished classics and exciting new offerings.
“We focused intently on ensuring detailed design and high-quality construction,” stated Christiana Coughlin, ECL Gaming’s Director of Marketing, in an interview. “Our aim was to facilitate a gradual transition for loyal customers who considered Irene’s a staple in their lives.”
The newly expanded casino commenced operations in December 2024. Irene’s Corner Café officially opened its doors in April 2025, alongside a fresh non-smoking slot area adjacent to the café. Coughlin also emphasized, “Retaining our staff who wished to continue with us was vital—they play a significant role in enhancing customer experience and satisfaction.”
The grand opening event this month was a lively celebration featuring live music, a complimentary buffet, and a range of prize draws, including a Kawasaki ATV. Coughlin noted, “Pahrump stands out as a well-established market with a loyal customer base, and it is witnessing growth as more residents discover the unique combination of small-community charm and expanding facilities.”
“Our objective is to elevate the gaming experience for the Pahrump community while retaining the exceptional quality of the restaurant that has been associated with Irene’s for many years,” she added.
Jackpot Joanie’s features a blend of modern and classic slot machines, an enhanced menu highlighting generous portions of Irene’s specialties, and a strong commitment to community involvement.
“As we continue to integrate into the Pahrump community, we aim to discover new ways to engage and collaborate with local organizations and businesses, and we eagerly anticipate hosting more events in the future,” Coughlin concluded.
