Quenton Marcelles Brown, the father of NBA sensation Jaylen Brown, has been arrested on charges of attempted murder in Las Vegas, various news sources indicated on Thursday. He is accused of stabbing another individual in the abdomen during a dispute regarding a parking space.

The altercation took place at 5:42 PM on Wednesday. The 57-year-old former boxer, known by his middle name, fled the scene but was later apprehended and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday morning. He faces one felony charge of attempted murder.
According to authorities, the stabbing victim, reportedly a youth football coach, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition and required surgical intervention.
Quenton Brown is expected to make his first court appearance later today.
Although Quenton is the father of Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics shooting guard, a report from TMZ claims that Jaylen “does not maintain a close relationship with his father and was not aware of the arrest or the incident.”
As of Thursday morning, Jaylen Brown has not made any public comments, and the Celtics organization has yet to respond to press inquiries.
