Susan Lopez, the Florida State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit, has decided not to proceed with the charges against NFL wide receiver Jordan Addison, who was taken into custody last week at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.

On Tuesday, Lopez informed Addison and his legal representatives that the first-degree misdemeanor trespass charge against him would be dropped.

“Upon reviewing the affidavit and Notice to Appear, the State Attorney’s Office has decided to dismiss the charges and terminate prosecution effective immediately. The defendant will not need to appear for any future proceedings regarding this matter,” Lopez stated.

The state prosecutor has also ordered the return of the $500 bond that Addison had paid.

As reported by Casino.org, Addison, currently a player for the Minnesota Vikings, was arrested at the tribal casino around 3:46 AM on January 12 after failing to comply with directives to leave the venue. He was released shortly after posting the $500 bail.

Statement from Addison

This was not Addison’s first encounter with law enforcement. In July 2023, at age 23, he was apprehended for reckless driving at a speed of 140 miles per hour. A year later, he faced another arrest for DUI.

According to the affidavit filed by the Seminole Indian Police and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Addison resisted orders to vacate the casino’s Jubao Palace Noodle Bar, which is open until 4 AM. Officers reported that he had to be redirected multiple times before being escorted out.

“The defendant needed to be redirected several times before being taken into custody for trespassing after a warning,” noted Officer Fluellen in the arrest affidavit.

Fortunately for Addison and his legal team, the state prosecutors decided to drop the trespassing charge.

“We’re pleased that we could resolve this matter swiftly, allowing Jordan’s name to remain untarnished,” said Brian Pakett from Pakett Law. “Jordan is a great individual who acted appropriately throughout this situation. Any other assertions are baseless.”

Addison’s previous DUI arrest in 2024 resulted in a three-game suspension at the start of the 2025 NFL season. He concluded the season with 42 receptions for 610 yards and three touchdowns, a significant decrease from his 2024 performance of 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Vikings concluded the season with a record of 9-8, failing to qualify for the NFL Playoffs.

About the State Prosecutor

Lopez, a Republican, has held the position of state attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit since August 2022, making history as the first woman to do so.

Appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Lopez took over the role after State Attorney Andrew Warren was suspended. She successfully won reelection in November, securing nearly 53% of the votes in Hillsborough County.
