The first incident occurred in Week 4 when Herbert fractured the middle finger on his non-throwing left hand. He managed to play through the injury without missing any games. However, the more severe blow came in Week 14 when Herbert fractured the index finger on his right throwing hand during a game against the Denver Broncos. An MRI will determine his future availability for the remaining games of the season.

“It is something that we’ll know more as the week goes on and if there’s any chance to play, I’ll do everything I can to be out there,” said Herbert.

At this point, oddsmakers predict that Herbert is unlikely to play in the upcoming game, and the Raiders are currently favored with a -3 spread.

Additionally, Herbert’s injury may impact fantasy football players as they head into the playoffs in Week 15.

62-Game Streak at Stake for Herbert

The Chargers will now rely on their backup quarterback, Easton Stick, as the young quarterback faces the possibility of missing games due to injury for the first time in his career. This creates an opportunity for Stick to showcase his ability and help guide the team through the last stretch of the season.
