Kambi Group, a leading B2B sports betting technology provider, has officially assumed control as the operator of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (OLG) Proline sportsbook following the successful completion of a novation agreement with FDJ Gaming Solutions France (FDJ).

It took some time, as previously reported by Casino.org in February, Kambi was set to take over as OLG’s sportsbook partner, succeeding FDJ in managing the OLG contract. This agreement is in effect until 2032.
OLG Challenges Private Sector Competitors
OLG is a Crown corporation fully owned by the Ontario government, responsible for managing gaming facilities and charitable gambling, providing province-wide lottery services, and overseeing online sports betting and igaming through its Proline brand across roughly 10,000 retail locations. As a public entity, all its earnings are reinvested back into Ontario.
OLG launched its Kambi-powered sportsbook on January 27.

“We are thrilled to have concluded this transition and to embark on this new chapter in our collaboration with OLG,” stated Werner Becher, Chief Executive Officer of Kambi Group. “With the novation agreement now fulfilled, Kambi is excited to officially serve as the sportsbook provider in partnership with one of the most esteemed lottery operators globally.
“We appreciate our partnership with OLG and look forward to utilizing our advanced technology to support their sustainable growth and deliver a safe, engaging betting experience for Ontario customers.”
48 Licensed Betting Operators in Ontario
OLG captures approximately 20% of the Ontario regulated online casino and sports betting market, a sector featuring 48 licensed operators since the private market launched in April 2022. Despite this, a grey market remains active in Ontario. OLG aims to offer a more competitive platform for Ontarians.
“OLG is committed to providing a leading PROLINE sports betting experience for our players,” remarked Duncan Hannay, President and CEO of OLG. “We eagerly anticipate collaborating with our new partner, Kambi, known for its reliable product excellence, as we fulfill our promise to benefit the people and communities of Ontario. This marks an exciting advancement for both organizations.”
Recently, iGaming Ontario released financial figures for the province’s private sector in December. In 2025, the Ontario private market achieved over $98 billion in total handle, with operators generating $4 billion in combined NAGGR. Notably, 20% of revenue from private operators is returned to the province as taxes.
OLG’s fiscal year concludes on March 31, and the Crown corporation will disclose its financial results at that time.
