Lamar Odom was arrested in Las Vegas on Saturday morning on suspicions of driving under the influence, according to reports from TMZ and police documentation. The 46-year-old former NBA forward faced additional citations for driving over 41 mph above the speed limit and failing to stay in his lane during the traffic stop.

As of the latest information, Odom remains in custody.
Odom’s challenges with substance abuse have been well-documented over the last decade. His DUI arrest in 2013 marked the onset of a difficult period in his life.

In October 2015, he was discovered unconscious at the Love Ranch South, a brothel in Nye County that operates under legalized prostitution. He was rushed to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, entering in critical condition due to a near-fatal overdose.
This medical crisis led to him being comatose and requiring extensive care for organ failure and multiple strokes. His then-wife Khloe Kardashian remained by his side throughout his recovery, but ultimately, they finalized their divorce after his relapse in 2016.
Despite encountering these challenges, the two-time NBA champion later dedicated himself to a path of sobriety and has openly discussed his recovery journey.
In recent times, he has engaged with various rehabilitation centers and has utilized his experiences to inspire others facing similar battles with addiction. He has also provided encouragement to public figures, such as Bam Margera from Jackass, stressing the need for long-term treatment and accountability.
Over his 14-year NBA career, he reportedly amassed earnings of $114 million while playing for notable teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, the Miami Heat, and the Dallas Mavericks. Odom secured two championships with the Lakers and was awarded NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2011.
His athletic accomplishments, coupled with his well-known personal challenges, have made him a notable figure in both sports and entertainment.
