Five up-and-coming content creators recently finished a 10-day internship in Las Vegas, each receiving $25,000 to create engaging social media content centered around various resorts, attractions, and experiences in the vibrant city.
The Summer Intern House Las Vegas initiative took place from July 23 to August 1, with creators generating content for @Vegas social platforms, focusing on entertainment, nightlife, dining, attractions, and cultural experiences. The participants, all U.S.-based and aged 21 to 29, were chosen through a combination of applications and public voting.
This 10-day internship, organized by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, featured activities such as clubbing, gourmet dining, sports car racing, and helicopter tours over the city skyline.
“Our goal is to engage Gen Z where they already consume media, and we understand that content that feels authentic performs better,” remarked Michael O’Brien, vice president of digital and content marketing for LVCVA, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “This initiative yields a large volume of genuine content created by the influencers, while offering them unique experiences they couldn’t otherwise obtain.”
Tori Kay, a content creator during the program, produced 92 videos throughout her visit. In one instance at Arte Museum on the Las Vegas Strip, she captured footage of herself coloring a pink and purple zebra, then editing the resulting animation for Instagram and TikTok.
“I refer to it as the content creator Olympics — it’s a sort of creator boot camp,” Kay commented. “My entire Google Calendar is filled with outfit plans, event schedules, and tagging strategies.”
“People resonate with content that seems genuine, relatable, and unfiltered, which is the essence of this program,” O’Brien added. “Each visit to Vegas is unique, and we are thrilled to see how every intern interprets the city through their unique lens over these 10 amazing days.”
This internship offers a unique chance for participants to amplify their platforms, enhance their portfolios, and gain practical experience crafting content in one of the world’s most exciting destinations.
The Summer Intern House Las Vegas was executed as a third-party contest. This program marks a groundbreaking initiative for the LVCVA and is introduced following a notable drop in tourism last year, with visitor numbers declining by 7.6% in 2025.
Las Vegas is just one city leveraging influencer marketing to boost tourism. In April 2025, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism unveiled a 12-week paid program for aspiring content creators known as the “Beautiful Destinations Academy.”
Similarly, Visit Myrtle Beach implemented a program that paid eight content creators for a month-long residency called “Matador House: Creators in Residency Myrtle Beach.”
This rewrite emphasizes SEO-friendliness while keeping the unique information and content structure intact.
