One such hotel, Treasure Island Las Vegas, is offering rooms for $79 a day until January 31 to those affected by the fires.

Moreover, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is providing up to a 50% discount on rates, free parking, and a special deal for dogs until February 3.

Resorts World Las Vegas is offering a 35% discount to wildfire-impacted individuals, and MGM Resorts has slashed room rates by 35%. Additional discounts can be found at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas and the South Point Hotel.

Airbnb has partnered with 211LA to offer free housing for Southern California wildfire evacuees, with Airbnb hosts in and around Las Vegas also opening their doors.

Vital Vegas warns that Las Vegas casinos are charging high fees for checking in with pets other than dogs.

“Shame on Las Vegas casinos for gouging California fire escapees if they want to check in with pets. Guests are being charged hundreds of dollars for cats and other non-dog pets,” Vital Vegas posted this week.

As of Friday, the wildfires have claimed 10 lives and damaged or destroyed over 9,000 structures, forcing the evacuation of approximately 180,000 residents.

Several wildfires are affecting Southern California, with the Pacific Palisades fire being the most severe. By Friday morning, nearly 20,000 acres had been damaged, and the fire was 6% contained.

Nevada Firefighters in California

A team of firefighters from Nevada has been deployed to the Los Angeles area to assist California fire crews battling the wildfires.

“I’m grateful for the bravery of our firefighters and for the swift response from our state and local partners. Please join me in praying for the safety of our first responders and for immediate relief for the families and communities displaced by these wildfires,” Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo, R, said in a statement.

As of midweek, four strike teams and one task force from Nevada have been dispatched, totaling 25 engines and between 110 to 125 fire personnel.

Additional firefighters from the Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, and Pahrump Valley Fire & Rescue are also being sent to aid in the effort.

Volunteers from the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada are volunteering in Los Angeles for a two-week period.

Celebrities Lose Homes

Two prominent celebrities, who have previously performed in Las Vegas, lost their homes in Southern California this week due to the wildfires. They are Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton.

“Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing,” Crystal said in a recent statement. “We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy.”

Paris Hilton expressed her shock at witnessing their beachfront home in Malibu burn down live on TV.

“That was something no one should ever have to experience,” she stated.
