Crush American Grill — the popular contemporary American eatery recognized for its steaks, woodfired pizzas, and shared small plates — is set to close down after more than a decade at the MGM Grand. The final service will be on Saturday, September 12.
Crush made its debut in December 2013 as part of Michael and Jenna Morton‘s Morton Group collection, which also includes La Cave at Wynn Las Vegas and One Steakhouse at Virgin Hotels.
Crush’s closure follows Nellie’s Southern Kitchen’s exit earlier this year from MGM Grand, operated by the Jonas family, which ceased operations on May 25 coinciding with the family’s departure from Las Vegas.
Shortly after, MGM Grand permanently closed its long-standing buffet on May 31, as part of a broader shift away from traditional all-you-can-eat dining on the Strip post-pandemic.
There have been no announcements yet regarding new occupants for Crush, Nellie’s, or the buffet area that was closed, and Morton Group has not disclosed any plans for Crush’s revival elsewhere.
The decision to close came less than two weeks after Michael and Jenna Morton revealed to the Las Vegas Review-Journal that their 25-year-old son, Eli Morton, passed away in Las Vegas due to addiction, though there is no indication that the closure is related to this tragedy.
Big Topless
The food court at Circus Circus no longer exists. Big Top Eats has vacated the tent, leading to the closure of Burger King, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and Pick Up Stix. The company managing the food court, FGB Big Top LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 16, 2026.
Reportedly, the company, Feel Good Brands (FGB), owes Circus Circus around $2 million in overdue rent, as per Vital Vegas.
There’s a silver lining, though, as a new operator, Tony Ravelo of Ravelo Brands, plans to introduce eight new culinary concepts to the venue, with two concepts per counter, starting in mid-October 2026. Feel Good Brands also manages food courts at TI and Excalibur, both of which remain operational.

Valencian Gold is making a comeback, with plans to reopen in the Arts District in 2027. The revamped establishment will focus on wood-fired paella, charcoal-grilled meats and seafood, colorful vegetables, a tapas bar, and Spanish cocktails.
Mothership Coffee Roaster, a local favorite in Las Vegas, is set to open its first Strip location at BLVD Las Vegas, alongside In-N-Out and Netflix House on January 1, 2027.

Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill at 5070 Blue Diamond Road in Blue Diamond was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District during a routine inspection on August 8, 2026, due to 18 violations.
