Las Vegas Sands (LVS) has made a generous contribution of $150,000 to the LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas to bolster a workforce development initiative designed to aid housing-insecure young adults in acquiring job experience and achieving sustainable economic stability.

Funded through the Sands Cares community engagement program, the grant will launch a mobile coffee truck staffed by 20 participants aged 18-24. They will gain practical work experience while receiving training in essential skills including customer service, food service operations, and fundamental business management.
Operating for over 30 years, the LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas provides healthcare, counseling, community programs, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. The center features two on-site clinics that offer physical and mental health services, with its youth and adult programs supporting thousands in the community annually.
“We’re embarking on a new chapter in our collaboration with the Center, focusing on initiatives closely aligned with our commitment to global workforce development and promoting economic empowerment through job skills and employment opportunities,” stated Ron Reese, Senior VP of Global Communications and Corporate Affairs for Las Vegas Sands.

“We have been committed to addressing youth homelessness in Las Vegas, so supporting unhoused and housing-insecure youth aligns perfectly with our mission,” Reese continued.
Since 2021, Las Vegas Sands has fostered a close partnership with the Center, including funding for the expansion of the Arlene Cooper Community Health Center. The ongoing support has assisted the Center in enhancing its facilities, improving administrative functions, and expanding healthcare and community services.
From 2023 to 2025, the Center participated in the Sands Cares Accelerator, a three-year program aimed at enhancing the capacities of nonprofits, increasing their visibility, and ensuring their long-term sustainability. As a result, the Center has significantly amplified its media influence and established itself as a leading advocate for LGBTQ+ community health and rights in the region.
Ongoing Presence in Las Vegas
After selling the Venetian Las Vegas for $6.25 billion to VICI Properties and Apollo Global Management in February 2022, Las Vegas Sands has redirected its business focus entirely toward Asia.

The publicly traded company currently manages venues including Venetian Macao, Sands Macao, The Londoner Macao, Four Seasons Hotel Macao, the Parisian Macao, and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Despite this shift, LVS retains its corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, where co-founder and majority shareholder (~58.2%) Dr. Miriam Adelson remains engaged with the community.
Since December 2015, she and her family have also owned the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which was acquired for $140 million from Gatehouse Media by the late Sheldon Adelson, the founder and former CEO of LVS.
