Loto-Québec has announced a significant 11.1% increase in overall revenue for the initial quarter of the 2025-2026 fiscal year (spanning from April 1 to June 30), in comparison to Q1 of 2024-2025.

9.9% Revenue Growth in First Quarter
The total revenues reached CAD $766.5 million, marking an increase of CAD $76.8 million compared to the same period last year. The consolidated net income stood at CAD $384.4 million, reflecting a CAD $34.7 million (9.9%) rise year-over-year.
“We are maintaining the forward momentum from last year and achieving better results after one quarter due to our teams’ unwavering dedication and effective management of multiple concurrent initiatives,” stated Loto-Québec President and CEO Jean-Francois Bergeron.
The previous year’s performance, which Bergeron highlighted, was characterized by total revenues of CAD $2.993 billion, up from CAD $2.932 billion in the fiscal year before.
Significant Growth in Casino Operations
Last fiscal year, the net income was CAD $1.518 billion, showing a small improvement from CAD $1.511 billion reported for FY 2023-2024.
In the first quarter of 2025-2026, the lottery sector generated CAD $236.3 million in revenues (up 7.8%). The casino and gaming hall sector reported revenues of CAD $323.4 million, reflecting a substantial 17.6% increase. Meanwhile, the gaming establishment sector—covering operations outside their venues, such as sports betting, video lottery terminals in bars, and bingo and Kinzo halls—saw revenues of CAD $212.2 million (an increase of 5.7%).
“We’ve made thrilling announcements this quarter, including the expansion of the conference center at Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy, which will solidify Gatineau’s status as a premier business tourism destination,” Bergeron remarked. “Moreover, the revival of a beloved comedy event at the Hôtel-Casino de Charlevoix resort—Loto-Québec fait son Juste pour rire—enhances the entertainment offerings in this remarkable region.”
CEO Remarks on Digital Platform Expansion
Among the quarter’s notable highlights: a record CAD $2,513,553 progressive jackpot was won at poker in Casino du Lac-Leamy on April 16. Just one month later, an Outaouais visitor won CAD $2,211,553 on a slot machine at the casino.
The introduction of gaming tables in gaming halls, a new inter-location progressive jackpot for poker, and the option for additional wagers in blackjack were other significant developments, according to the crown corporation’s statement.
“Our digital platform has continued to expand, yielding better results across both lottery and casino play,” noted Bergeron. “This success is driven by a diverse, modern, and responsible offering. We’re off to a promising start this year, and I’m confident we’ll continue to deliver results that will bring pride to all of us since it benefits all of Québec.”
On the budgetary front in Quebec, reports indicate that schools might face closures due to fiscal limitations. In June, the provincial government announced that the projected deficit for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is lower than initially expected. Notably, all profits generated by Loto-Québec are reinvested into the province.
