- Polymarket officially partners with MLS as a prediction market collaborator
- Polymarket also has collaborations with UFC and NHL
- MLS season kicks off on February 22
Soccer United Marketing, the marketing division of Major League Soccer (MLS), has announced a multi-year collaboration with Polymarket, enabling soccer enthusiasts to wager on match outcomes.

In an announcement, MLS confirmed Polymarket as an official partner, extending its collaboration to include the Leagues Cup in the U.S. Polymarket becomes the exclusive prediction market partner for MLS events, including the MLS All-Star Game, MLS Cup, and Leagues Cup.
Enhancing Fan Interaction
The partnership aims to deepen fan engagement during major MLS events, creating digital experiences that allow fans to connect more while leveraging the rising trend of prediction markets.
Last November, TKO, the organization behind UFC and Zuffa Boxing, struck a comparable deal with Polymarket, which was prominently featured during UFC 324 in Las Vegas.
Multi-Year Prediction Market Partnership
Viewers tuned into Paramount+ witnessed a substantial Polymarket branding presence, including split-screen displays during critical moments of fights, such as the interim lightweight title bout featuring Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje. As the match escalated, Polymarket’s share prices fluctuated significantly. Pimblett entered as the favorite but was overwhelmed by Gaethje’s punches, leading to a unanimous decision victory for Gaethje. Notably, Pimblett entered adorned with a diamond Polymarket necklace.
Additionally, Polymarket has partnered with the NHL, a collaboration announced last October. However, it has not yet arranged partnerships with the NFL, MLB, or NBA.
“As soccer’s audience continues to grow and evolve in the U.S., fans are seeking innovative ways to engage with the sport,” remarked Shayne Coplan, Founder and CEO of Polymarket. “Our partnership with MLS and Leagues Cup will enable the real-time aggregation of fan sentiment during crucial moments, matches, and overarching season narratives, providing a more interactive and data-informed approach to enjoying the world’s most popular sport.”
Measures to Ensure Game Integrity
MLS emphasized that stringent measures will be employed to safeguard the integrity of league matches, which will include independent oversight of trading activities.
“As MLS continues to expand, innovation is vital to enhancing fan interaction and evolving the league,” stated Gary Stevenson, MLS Deputy Commissioner and President of Soccer United Marketing. “Partnering with Polymarket allows us to incorporate prediction markets as a fresh way to engage fans, positioning MLS as a frontrunner among global soccer organizations.”
The upcoming MLS season is set to commence on February 22.
