Summit Highlights

With the World Cup heading to Toronto, where Canada’s first match will occur on June 12 at BMO Field, organizing the event around this schedule became necessary. Hence, SBC has shifted the conference, now named SBC Summit Canada, to May 19-21, once again located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The Canadian Gaming Summit has a history of 28 years, prior to its acquisition by SBC three years ago.

“With the SBC Summit Canada, we are reinforcing our long-term dedication to the Canadian market via a revamped event tailored to meet stakeholder needs and focus on generating valuable business opportunities for our attendees. The year 2026 is set to be pivotal for Canada’s gaming sector,” stated Rasmus Sojmark, CEO of SBC.

Market Development

“As Alberta’s regulations near implementation and iGaming grows in both engagement and revenue, coinciding with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, this is the perfect moment to unite the industry under the SBC Summit Canada banner, highlighting both the extensive opportunities ahead and the mature market landscape.”

SBC indicated that the conference is entering its “next chapter,” merging an international perspective with a strong focus on the specifics of the Canadian gaming industry. Over 3,000 high-level executives from Canada’s retail and online casino, sports betting, and iGaming sectors are projected to attend.

The three-day event will present more than 120 expert speakers and a large exhibition space exceeding 50,000 square feet. Guests can look forward to premium hospitality designed to promote valuable networking and business engagement.

Emphasis on Alberta

Currently, Alberta’s impending market launch is the hottest topic in Canada. SBC Summit Canada will concentrate significantly on this subject. With Bill 48 now enacted, the market’s launch is anticipated in the spring or summer. It will be intriguing to see if Alberta is operational by the time the Summit occurs and how that will influence the event.

Exhibitors will have plenty of opportunities to evaluate solutions suited for Alberta, compare various vendors, and initiate dialogues regarding market entry. The conference schedule will offer operators practical insights into the expected evolution of Alberta’s market, focusing on aspects such as regulation, marketing strategies, and customer acquisition.

Panel discussions will be structured into designated conference tracks: Leaders in Sports Betting & iGaming, Affiliates & Advertising, Leaders in Land-Based & Lottery, and Player Protection Symposium.
