There is significant betting interest in the upcoming Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight scheduled for Friday, with Tyson being the favored contender at 58 years old.

The bout is stirring controversy as Tyson’s last sanctioned fight was in 2005, and a previous attempt to fight Paul in July was canceled due to Tyson’s health issues. Meanwhile, Paul, a 27-year-old YouTuber, has only 11 fights under his belt, winning 10 of them. Despite being considered a novelty fighter, Tyson Fury has commended Paul’s boxing skills, as per an ESPN report. Reportedly, Paul stands to earn $40 million while Tyson will earn $20 million.

Eight-Round Fight

The fight will take place at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, airing on Netflix for subscribers at 8 p.m. EST. It will be a professional bout in Texas, adding to the boxers’ records (Tyson: 50-6, 44 KOs, Paul: 10-1, 7 KOs). The fight will consist of eight two-minute rounds, with the fighters using 14 oz gloves instead of the usual 10 oz for their weight class, reducing the impact of punches.

Recent footage of Tyson’s training shows him in excellent physical condition, having previously gone eight rounds with Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match four years ago, resulting in a split draw.

Streamed on Netflix

The decision to allow a 58-year-old to fight a much younger opponent raises ethical concerns about Tyson’s reflexes and brain health. However, Tyson reassured BBC Sport during a media event that he is in good health and ready to fight.

No one is taking it easy on me. They want to see if I quit or not and I’m still here. All the training is over now. The fight is the party, the training is preparation, but the fight is the party.

Betting trends are favoring Tyson in the upcoming fight.

Predictions suggest Tyson will start strong but may tire due to his age, allowing Paul to potentially secure a win. Despite the skepticism around the fight, bettors and fans are showing interest in the outcome.

Trader’s Perspective

Despite the circus-like atmosphere surrounding the fight, traders anticipate strong betting activity. Paul is listed as the favorite over Tyson in the odds, but the final outcome remains uncertain.

Various sportsbooks are offering prop bets for the Tyson vs. Paul match, including predictions on the method of victory, round betting, and time of victory.

Paul Favored in Odds

As of the latest update, BetVictor lists Paul as -175 to win, +900 for a draw, and Tyson at +175 to win. BetMGM and DraftKings also have similar odds, with Paul being the favorite to win.
