Mark Wahlberg recently revealed on Instagram that he will be opening a new gym in Summerlin, Las Vegas. Named Municipal Gym Fitness and Recovery, after his sportswear company, the gym will be located in the posh suburb where Wahlberg and his family reside.

“OK, the lease is signed,” Wahlberg announced in a video standing in front of the gym’s location in Downtown Summerlin shopping mall. “It’s really happening now.”

While Wahlberg’s message suggests personalized training and documenting success, he is not likely to be a hands-on trainer at the gym.

Don’t Mark His Word

The gym will be operated by EoD, a rapidly expanding chain with multiple locations nationwide, including two in Las Vegas. Wahlberg is expected to be an occasional presence for special events, similar to his arrangement with F45 Training in 2019.

The new gym will offer amenities such as juice bars, cafes, retail and apparel, as well as vitamins and supplements.

“This will be a fusion of luxury and serious fitness,” Wahlberg emphasized in his announcement.

Since relocating to Las Vegas in 2022, Wahlberg has also opened a restaurant in Town Square called Flecha Cantina and has shown support for a Hollywood film studio project in the city, particularly endorsing Sony’s proposal over a competing one from Warner Bros.
