MGM Resorts International announced that its IT systems, previously affected by a cyberattack, are now fully operational. The company’s Las Vegas and US resorts have resolved most of the issues, allowing them to resume normal operations.
MGM’s statement assures customers that its resort services, dining, entertainment, pools, and spas are functioning normally. Gaming floors, including slots, table games, and poker rooms, are open for guests. The company acknowledges intermittent issues but expresses gratitude for patrons’ understanding and looks forward to their continued support.
Despite the progress made in resolving the cyberattack, some customers are still experiencing service disruptions. However, the majority of MGM’s property websites and mobile app have been restored, allowing customers to make bookings for dining, bars, lounges, nightlife, and spa services online.
It is important to note that room reservations for certain MGM casinos, including Aria, Bellagio, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, and New York-New York, must still be made through direct phone calls. Regional hotels like MGM National Harbor, MGM Springfield, and Beau Rivage also require phone reservations. The Cosmopolitan, which operates on a separate IT system, remains unaffected by the cyberattack and continues to offer online room bookings.
Guests have reported long hold times due to the high volume of calls made to book or cancel reservations, seek information on operational status, and report ongoing service disruptions.
Mobile check-in services and kiosk check-ins are currently offline, causing delays during check-in and check-out procedures. MGM allows guests to cancel hotel reservations without penalty until September 24.
Persistent Gaming Issues
While there are still some ongoing issues, MGM’s casino floors have mostly returned to normal. Gaming vouchers are now working, and cashier kiosks are ready to redeem. Slot players, except for those at Excalibur, no longer need to rely on manual payout by slot attendants to receive their winnings.
MGM Rewards players can track their gaming spend using the slots, although the redemption of MGM Rewards points is temporarily unavailable.
