Midnite appoints Dale Tang, former FanDuel Canada executive, as the leader for its Canadian market launch, marking the operator’s first international expansion outside the UK.

Tang comes on board as Midnite’s Canada general manager after an impactful tenure at FanDuel, where he was instrumental in the operator’s Canadian business. He held the position of senior director of Canada commercial, analytics, and retention at FanDuel before joining Midnite. Tang will be located in Toronto.
Announcing his move on LinkedIn, Tang expressed his excitement for the opportunity to establish another Canadian operation outside FanDuel.
Five years ago, I had the chance to join FanDuel Canada in its earliest days. Along the way, I learned from exceptional leaders and incredible peers — and most importantly, had the chance to build an amazing team I got to work alongside every day.

Tang mentioned that leaving FanDuel was a tough decision.
“But the chance to build something new in Canada doesn’t come around often — so I’m excited to share that I’ve joined Midnite to lead its launch into the Canadian market,” he stated.
Prior to his FanDuel role, Tang spent over three years at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, where he served as the director of strategy development.
Midnite Targets Canada, Starting With Ontario
Since its establishment in 2015, Midnite has experienced rapid growth in the UK, positioning itself as a challenger brand catering to a digitally savvy demographic.
The move into Canada follows Midnite’s successful $35 million Series C funding round in January.
Raine Partners IV, managed by The Raine Group, led the funding round, with existing investors Play Ventures, Discerning Capital, Makers Fund, and Big Bets also participating.
“This funding allows us to expedite our growth strategy as we strive for tier-1 operator status, investing heavily in our product team to disrupt the industry with a challenger brand platform for a new generation of players,” stated Midnite co-founder Nick Wright.
With this investment, Midnite’s total equity funding surpassed $75 million, following a $10 million Series B round in 2025 and a $16 million Series A round in 2022. Additionally, the company secured a separate $100 million credit facility in October of the same year.
The capital raised will support Midnite’s inaugural international expansion.
A recent job listing indicates the company’s strategy to launch a casino platform across Canada, including Ontario and other regulated provinces in the future.
However, Midnite is not yet listed as a licensed operator in Ontario or Alberta by the respective provincial authorities.
