The plaintiff, Mark Charron, hailing from Wisconsin, booked a three-night stay in Bay St. Louis in March 2025, bringing along a camper trailer attached to his pickup truck. Charron asserts that Glenn Smith, the casino's security manager, had informed him that parking his camper in the back lot was permissible.

On the second day of his visit at the casino, owned by Las Vegas's Full House Resorts, Charron received a call from the front desk asking him to relocate his camper by noon. He complied and, with assistance from an employee named Shue, moved the camper to a different lot believed to be outside casino property.

Later that night, at around 12:30 am, Charron claims he was awakened by loud banging and shouting outside his room.

“You need to move that f***ing camper!” the complaint reports hotel staff shouting.

Perplexed, Charron opened his door and informed the employees that they had mistaken the camper, as he had moved it correctly. He then closed the door and attempted to return to sleep.

Censured at the Hotel

In a matter of seconds, the hotel staff knocked on his door once more. Security, accompanied by a shift manager, demanded the camper be relocated.

Charron asserts that the workers refused to clarify which camper needed to be moved or would be impounded. Eventually, the hotel called the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, leading to three deputies arriving at 1 am.

According to police body camera footage, officers informed Charron that he was now trespassing, as the casino sought to remove him from the premises. Charron insisted that the hotel staff had made an error.

Law enforcement repeatedly advised Charron that the camper's status was no longer relevant, as the casino had ordered him removed. Eventually, Charron exited the hotel at 1:30 am after gathering his belongings.

After receiving his pickup truck from the valet and preparing to leave, Charron paused to take photos of what he believed to be the camper in question, leading to his arrest for trespassing.

Charges Dropped

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office later dropped the trespassing charge against Charron. His lawsuit seeks damages from the Silver Slipper for being "vicariously liable for the actions of its employees."

Charron emphasizes that by contracting with the Silver Slipper and paying for accommodations, he expected the hotel to act in good faith, ensuring a safe and enjoyable stay. The hotel, however, allegedly acted maliciously by expelling him and instigating his arrest," the complaint states.

“The Silver Slipper’s actions represent a breach of contract, a violation of good faith, and an intentional misconduct of service,” the lawsuit indicates.

Charron seeks actual, compensatory, pecuniary, non-pecuniary, special, and punitive damages, with an amount to be determined by a jury, in addition to reasonable attorney fees. A case management conference by phone is scheduled for March 27.
