Ray Pineault, the President and CEO of Mohegan Gaming, will resign on December 28 to dedicate more time to his family.

Pineault began his journey with Mohegan in 2001 as a senior attorney, gradually advancing to prominent positions like president, general manager, and CEO. He has held the CEO role since 2021 and was instrumental in the reopening of Mohegan resorts after the COVID-19 lockdowns.

“With Mohegan prepared for future opportunities, especially with the growth of online gaming, now is the perfect time for me to step back from my position,” Pineault stated. “Serving my Tribe for 25 years has been a tremendous privilege, and I am eager to spend more time with my family, who have made many sacrifices for my career.”

In acknowledgment of his contributions, James Gessner Jr., Chairman of the Tribal Council, extended his heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Board and the Tribe, emphasizing that Pineault’s leadership has ensured the welfare of the Mohegan community for generations to come. Gessner also wished him joy and success in his future endeavors.

“Ray’s unwavering commitment over the last 25 years underscores his dedication to uplifting our Tribe,” he remarked. “Leading an organization, especially on an international scale, entails significant responsibility, non-stop hours, and a readiness to make personal sacrifices for the benefit of fellow Tribal members and the extensive Mohegan workforce who depend on his guidance.”

The Mohegan management board confirmed that measures are being implemented to guarantee a seamless transition in leadership with the executive team.
