Mohegan has declared the selection of Joe Soper as the new Vice President of Sports & Entertainment. In this capacity, he will be responsible for the strategic planning and programming of entertainment events at Mohegan Sun.

Soper will work collaboratively across the extensive portfolio of the company, which encompasses Mohegan Pennsylvania in Northeast Pennsylvania, along with Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Mohegan Sun hosts an impressive lineup of over 120 concerts and sporting events annually at its 10,000-seat arena. The venue recently celebrated its 25th anniversary by announcing two exceptional performances by the iconic rock band Metallica.

Soper returns to Mohegan following his service on the Mohegan Tribal Council, where he has been acting as Corresponding Secretary since 2019, managing official communications and sharing updates with Tribal members.

Prior to his position in the Tribal Council, he dedicated 15 years to Mohegan Sun, beginning as a Senior Financial Analyst before advancing to the role of Director of Sports & Entertainment. In this capacity, he was instrumental in transforming Mohegan Sun Arena into a premier live entertainment venue while also supporting various developmental initiatives across the company’s properties.

Joe Soper is an established leader with essential insights and expertise that not only benefit Mohegan Sun’s Sports & Entertainment sector but resonate throughout our entire organization. We are excited to have him back to steer one of the most vibrant segments of our business,” expressed David Martinelli, CMO of Mohegan. “His commitment and experience will be pivotal in continuing to advance the future of live entertainment at Mohegan Sun.”

In his new position, Soper will direct the strategic vision and everyday operations of Mohegan Sun’s entertainment division. His efforts will also concentrate on fortifying alliances with significant industry partners, including top promoters, music agencies, and sports entities, in order to draw elite talent and secure exclusive performances.

Soper holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in finance from Western New England University.
