Rejects Play Festival Chairs

Two weeks after dropping out of one Vegas music festival, When We Were Young (WWWY), All-American Rejects landed another. They’ll be on the bill at the Neon City Festival, a free downtown Las Vegas event playing opposite the F1 Grand Prix from November 22-24.

That now makes the Oklahoma rockers one of the biggest fishes in a smaller festival pond, the opposite situation they had with WWWY.

The band dropped out of that lineup, headlined by My Chemical Romance and Fallout Boy, due to what one of their Instagram posts called “a management change.” (Translation: They either didn’t get either the billing or the money, or both, that someone else promised them earlier.)

Now, they’ll be co-headlining Saturday’s Neon city festivities with Seven Lions, the stage name of dance-music DJ Jeff Montalvo.

Also playing Neon City will be the previously announced Alison Wonderland, Neon Trees, Russell Dickerson and the newly added Plain White T’s, best known for their 2007 hit “Hey There Delilah.”

Rapper Macklemore, who would have been Neon City’s biggest name, was booted last month for making anti-American remarks at a pro-Palestinian festival.

Lucky 13 for Santana

At 77,. Santana can still extend. He’s doing it to his residency, bringing it into a 13th year at Mandalay Bay’s House of Blues. (It began there on October 30, 1999!)

Following his last 2024 gig on November 10, the guitar legend will return for 16 more: January 22, 23, 25, 26, 29 and 30; Feb. 1 and 2; and May 14, 15, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24 and 25.

Tickets go on sale 10 am. Friday, Nov. 1 here.
