Impressive Growth on the Las Vegas Strip

For the fiscal year spanning July 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, Nevada’s gaming revenues have climbed by 1.98%, surpassing $12 billion.

In March 2026, the Las Vegas Strip recorded nearly $780 million in gaming revenue, marking a 14.43% increase over March 2025 and a modest 0.69% rise for the fiscal year. Downtown Las Vegas also thrived, reporting $103.1 million in gaming wins, representing a 20.78% increase year-over-year compared to $85.4 million in March 2025, with a 4% rise for the fiscal year overall.

In April, the state collected over $93 million in taxes based on March revenues, reflecting a 17.24% increase (or $13.67 million) from the previous year. This uptick in state collection was the first after four months of consecutive year-over-year declines.

Turning the Tide

For Las Vegas, these statistics are a reassuring turnaround for a city previously facing a string of declines in entertainment, gaming, and tourism.

Major events, such as the NASCAR Pennzoil 400 on March 15 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, NCAA Division I March Madness viewing parties, and the large-scale CONEXPO-CON/AGG construction show from March 13-17 were pivotal in boosting revenue numbers for the month.

Attractive Promotions and Offers

Las Vegas casinos have been implementing varied promotional strategies, including significant discounts and bundled deals, such as waiving report fees, providing complimentary parking, and reducing room rates while offering all-inclusive packages.

In January, downtown Las Vegas hotels, including Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, launched a notable campaign to address currency exchange issues for Canadian travelers, allowing Canadian guests to benefit from favorable rates. Guests could redeem CA$1 for US$1 on eligible slots and accommodations until August 31, treating the amount as a full US dollar value.
