The grand opening of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol in Southern Virginia on November 14 is quickly approaching. The $515 million integrated resort is in need of additional staff to fill hundreds of remaining job positions before the property opens, featuring a performance from country music star and The Voice judge Blake Shelton.
The casino at Hard Rock is set to open on Thursday, November 14, with restaurants and entertainment starting operations on the same day. However, the 303 hotel guestrooms won’t be available until Sunday, November 17.
Hard Rock representatives informed News Channel 11, a local affiliate in the Bristol region, that interested job seekers should contact the resort promptly.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol President Allie Evangelista stated, “As we approach the opening date, we are looking for a few more team members to join our band.” The resort has hired “over 1,000 team members” but still has “a couple hundred positions” to fill, particularly seeking experienced spa workers, bartenders, and security personnel.
With only 22 days left until the permanent Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol opens, management advises previous applicants who were not selected for the temporary casino to reapply. The temporary casino has been operating inside the former Bristol Mall since July 2022.
The temporary casino, replacing a Belk department store, has 905 slot machines, 29 table games, and sports betting. Employing around 600 people, it also includes grab-and-go food options, a bar, and a retail memorabilia Rock Shop.
The permanent casino floor will offer approximately 1,500 slots, 50 live dealer table games, and a Hard Rock Sportsbook. The resort will have seven restaurants and bars, a 2,000-seat concert hall, and the hotel for events and conventions.
After a hiring event on Tuesday, Hard Rock Bristol is still seeking applicants. More details can be found here.
Blake Shelton Performance
The opening of Hard Rock Bristol will feature a performance by Blake Shelton at Hard Rock Live. Tickets for the concert sold out quickly, with only one listing currently available on Ticketmaster.
The “verified resale” listing offers two tickets at a high price, likely for dedicated Shelton fans willing to pay the $2,400 asking price. With additional fees, the total cost comes to $2,955.95.
Shelton’s performance at the Bristol casino is fitting, considering the town’s historical connection to country music as the birthplace of the genre. Shelton, originally from Oklahoma, moved to Nashville at 17 to pursue his country music career.
