Ocean Casino Resort debuted Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar on January 17, marking the first mini golf course within an Atlantic City casino.
Situated on the Casino Level adjacent to LaScala’s Fire, this 8,000-square-foot facility features two unique nine-hole mini golf courses along with a fully stocked bar. Open Wednesday through Monday, it invites guests of all ages during the daytime and transitions to a 21+ sports bar after 9 p.m. The bar is equipped with large-screen TVs and a cocktail selection, including signature drinks like the Jaws 18 martini and Pineapple Par, alongside seasonal cocktails and frozen granitas.
Enhancing the experience, the venue utilizes cutting-edge hologram technology developed by HYPERVSN, the same firm responsible for the holograms at The Sphere in Las Vegas. Visitors are welcomed by Ava the Avatar, a digital human hologram that greets guests, provides answers to queries, and encourages engagement in the venue’s exclusive Challenge Hole. Ava speaks over 15 languages.
Ocean’s 18 also showcases a stunning 12-foot holographic Great White Shark suspended above the main bar, touted as the largest hologram ever integrated into a mini golf course or casino worldwide. In addition, the facility offers QR code scorecards and a live leaderboard that tracks participant scores throughout the day.
The venue caters to private and corporate events, providing customizable holograms and various catering options.
For the grand opening, actor Christopher McDonald, famous for his portrayal of “Shooter McGavin” in Happy Gilmore and his role in HBO Max’s Hacks, made a special appearance. McDonald participated in a ribbon-cutting event, mingled with attendees, and took a few swings on the course. Several stars from MTV’s Jersey Shore, including Sammi Giancola (“Sammi Sweetheart”) and Jenni Farley (“JWoww”), also tried out the new attraction. Ocean’s 18 is conveniently located on the Casino Level next to LaScala’s Fire, featuring a fully stocked bar.
“By merging the nostalgia of mini golf with state-of-the-art technology, a lively bar atmosphere, and unparalleled entertainment options, Ocean’s 18 adds a new layer to guest experiences and solidifies Ocean as a must-see destination in Atlantic City,” stated Bill Callahan, General Manager of Ocean Casino Resort.
Mark Benevento, Owner and Operator of Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar, expressed that the venue is redefining entertainment in Atlantic City. “With immersive technology, a multilingual avatar, and a nostalgic design, it seamlessly combines Jersey Shore culture and innovation into a distinctive experience that appeals to everyone,” he remarked.
Later this year, the resort plans to introduce a “Stay and Play” hotel package specifically for golfers in the Northeast.
Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar is now officially open to the public.
