After nearly 20 years since Greenwood Racing, the parent company of Parx, informed the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board of plans for an on-site hotel, this vision has finally been realized.

In 2024, Greenwood acquired the neighboring Inn at Fox Chase, located directly across the parking area from the casino, and began a comprehensive renovation of the property into what is now called the Parxview Hotel. This establishment includes a total of 160 accommodations, among which are 16 luxurious suites.

“Parxview Hotel signifies an exhilarating new era for our facility and guests,” stated Eric Hausler, the CEO of Parx Casino. “This hotel enhances Parx as a true overnight getaway, allowing visitors to experience all our offerings—ranging from gaming and dining to live entertainment—while enjoying the elegance and comfort of a top-tier hotel environment.”

A complimentary shuttle service will operate between the casino and the Parxview Hotel. Dining options at the hotel include The Bistro, a full-service restaurant and bar. Additionally, the refurbished outdoor pool is expected to welcome guests by late May.

The hotel also features a comprehensive fitness center, and like the casino, is entirely smoke-free.

Parx Casino boasts an impressive array of 3,000 slot machines, 140 live table games, and a sportsbook. The venue also encompasses eight dining options, the Xcite Center, and a horse racetrack providing parimutuel wagering. Situated in Bensalem, it lies approximately 15 miles northeast of downtown Philadelphia.

Cancellation of the Initial Hotel Concept

Originally, Parx had intentions to build a brand-new 300-room hotel from the ground up but decided to abandon this plan due to the rise of unregulated slot-like skill games across the state.

The $100 million hotel project was put on hold following state court decisions affirming that skill games do not fall under the Pennsylvania Gaming Act, as they incorporate skill elements and are not purely luck-based.

The legality of these skill games is currently under review by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, which has yet to issue a ruling.

Even if the Supreme Court deems the games illegal, there are ongoing legislative efforts in Harrisburg to regulate and impose taxes on them. Governor Josh Shapiro (D) has persistently urged the General Assembly to pass legislation to legitimize skill games to boost state revenue.

Leader in Pennsylvania’s Casino Market

For years, Parx has been at the forefront of Pennsylvania’s brick-and-mortar casino sector.

In 2025 alone, Parx Casino generated $374.7 million from its slot machines, while table games contributed $199.2 million, resulting in a total revenue exceeding $573.9 million. This performance accounted for a significant 17% of the state’s overall casino industry revenue across 17 establishments. Wind Creek Bethlehem followed in second place with $526 million.

Parx, alongside its sister venue, Parx Casino Shippensburg—a Category 4 mini-casino—stands out as the only smoke-free casinos in the state.

In addition to its physical operations, Parx Casino achieved gross gaming earnings of $66.6 million from iGaming and $13.3 million from sports betting throughout 2025.
