Following the recent success of the 108th PGA Championship held at Aronimink Golf Club, Parx reaffirmed its dedication to developing the game of golf in the area. On Tuesday, the casino announced its partnership with GAP, the Golf Association of Philadelphia, building on its longstanding support for the Philadelphia PGA Section.

“We are excited to partner with GAP, an organization that shares our strong connections to the Philadelphia community and our dedication to providing exceptional experiences to its members,” stated John Dixon, COO of Parx Casino.

The collaboration with GAP kicks off with Parx Casino and its online platform, betPARX, taking on the role of the title sponsor for this week’s Middle-Amateur Championship. This 54-hole event is hosted at Jefferson Golf Club, a recently upgraded public golf course that, like Aronimink, was originally designed by famed golf architect Donald Ross.

“The Middle-Amateur Championship has rapidly emerged as a highlight of the GAP calendar, and we are thrilled to contribute to its growth while creating fresh engagement opportunities, both on-site and digitally, for GAP members across Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” Dixon elaborated regarding the marketing commitment.

Golfers and Gambling: A Natural Pairing

Parx’s significant presence in Philadelphia’s golfing community is likely an advantage for its casino and online gaming operations. It’s well-known that many golfers enjoy placing bets.

According to a Golf Digest survey, approximately 80% of adult male golfers engage in some form of friendly betting while on the course. This practice is deeply embedded in the sport’s culture, as placing a wager can enhance the thrill of a casual game.

Common betting formats include the Nassau, dividing the wager into three separate bets for the front nine, back nine, and overall 18 holes. Another option is the skins game, where each hole has a designated value, and the player with the lowest score earns the skin, leading to potentially high stakes.

Another popular game is Wolf, where the “wolf” (the last to tee off) chooses their partner based on tee shots. The player who ultimately goes solo is designated as the “wolf.”

Financial Performance of Parx Casino

For several years, Parx Casino has held the title of the highest-grossing physical casino in Pennsylvania. Located just north of Philadelphia in Bensalem, it features around 3,000 slot machines and 140 table games.

In 2025, Parx reported a gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $374.7 million from slots and $199.2 million from table games, maintaining a 17% market share among 17 physical casinos in the state. Parx’s total GGR of $573.9 million surpassed Wind Creek Bethlehem, which came in second at $526 million.

Additionally, Parx’s online casino and sports betting services contributed approximately $80 million to its revenue in 2025.
