The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has imposed a fine of $50,000 on the operator of Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia (Stadium Casino RE LLC) for permitting four individuals on the self-exclusion list to gamble at the casino.
Under state regulations, a casino is required to identify and prohibit patrons who have self-excluded from engaging in gaming activities, as well as other privileges such as cashing checks and obtaining cash advances.
Player on Self-Exclusion List Gambled for 21 Hours
According to the settlement agreement between the board and the operator, one individual, in December 2021, played ten slot machines at Live! Casino despite being on the self-exclusion list due to an oversight in the identification process.
Another individual, before being identified as self-excluded on December 20, 2021, spent 55 minutes gaming and wagered $36,900 on blackjack. A third person spent over 21 hours at Live! Casino in November 2022, betting $9,600 on roulette and cashing out $4,700 at the Main Cage.
Credit Card Chargebacks Result in Bans
The board has also added five individuals to the iGaming Involuntary Exclusion List for fraudulent activities involving credit card transactions.
These infractions include using another person’s identity to create an igaming account, depositing funds through fraudulent means, and withdrawing funds without participating in gaming activities.
In one case, two individuals created multiple online accounts, a violation of the operator’s terms and conditions for a single account per person.
Another person created 16 separate online accounts using other individuals’ personal information and credit cards, withdrawing $11,250 to their personal bank account.
Minors Left Unattended Result in Bans from Casinos
One individual received unauthorized chargebacks totaling $11,125 on a credit card, while another obtained chargebacks of $21,600 through fraudulent means.
Currently, there are 47 individuals on the iGaming Involuntary Exclusion List in Pennsylvania.
The board also banned two individuals from all casinos in the state for leaving minors unattended while gambling. The safety measures prohibit adults from leaving children unsupervised in parking lots, garages, or other casino premises.
