During the 2027 PGA Championship, for the first time in its 111-year history, an “Official Casino Resort” will be included in the golf tournament.
Choctaw Casinos & Resorts was recently designated as the “Official Casino Resort” and “Official Community Partner” of the 2027 PGA Championship, a major golf tournament scheduled for May 17-23, 2027, at PGA Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas.
Heidi Grant, senior executive officer for the Choctaw Nation, expressed excitement about the upcoming event. She stated, “The 2027 PGA Championship represents a historic opportunity for the state of Texas, and we’re proud to partner with the PGA of America to help deliver an unforgettable experience for golf fans.”
The PGA of America anticipates 200,000 spectators attending the championship rounds in May, with tickets already sold out for all four days well in advance.
Jason Mengel, championship director, mentioned, “The enthusiasm surrounding the 2027 PGA Championship continues to exceed every expectation. Choctaw Casinos & Resorts shares our commitment to creating memorable experiences, making them an outstanding community partner as we prepare to welcome the first men’s major championship in Texas in more than five decades.”
PGA Gambling Embrace
Similar to the PGA Tour, the PGA of America has embraced sports betting and casino gambling. While this is the first time the PGA Championship will have an “Official Casino Resort” partner, it’s not the tournament’s first betting relationship.
Previously, ESPN Bet served as the “Official Sports Betting Sponsor” until its operations ceased in December 2025. However, the Choctaw partnership will bring a new level of engagement to the tournament next year.
The Choctaw Nation will be promoting its tribal casinos in Oklahoma to Texas visitors during the PGA Championship, despite sports betting being prohibited in both states.
Choctaw PGA Tickets
As part of its sponsorship, Choctaw Casinos & Resorts will transform the Ice House at PGA Frisco into a premium hospitality venue for the event, offering exclusive food and beverage options, branded gifts, and interactive activities.
The premium venue will provide an elevated experience for ticket holders, including access to a dedicated viewing area behind the ninth green for a close-up view of major championship golf,” the Choctaw release stated.
The daily VIP tickets for the Choctaw Ice House experience have already sold out, ensuring an exclusive and luxurious experience for attendees.
