- Excitement grows in Bills’ coaching search with Philip Rivers added to the mix
- FanDuel Canada launches betting options for Bills’ next coach
- Brian Daboll leads in betting interest, closely followed by Joe Brady
FanDuel Canada has introduced a betting market for the Buffalo Bills’ next head coach, and Philip Rivers’ involvement has certainly heightened the intrigue.

Following the dismissal of Sean McDermott last Monday, speculation arose regarding potential candidates for the head coach role, with names like Brian Daboll, Joe Brady, and Jesse Minter emerging as front-runners.
Daboll emerged as the early favorite shortly after the news broke about McDermott. However, news surfaced on Friday about Philip Rivers, the Hall of Fame hopeful who returned from retirement in December to lead the Indianapolis Colts for three games, interviewing for the Bills’ head coaching role.
Daboll Remains Leading Candidate for Bills’ Coaching Role
Josh Allen, the Bills’ quarterback, is reportedly being consulted during the coaching search and is enthusiastic about the possibility of Rivers joining the team.
“I genuinely believe that, with all due humility, I could coach at this level,” Rivers stated in December. “I understand the game well, along with team dynamics and leadership, but pursuing that is not my primary focus right now.”
At 44 years old, Rivers boasts an extensive career, playing 18 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Chargers. The current odds at FanDuel Canada list Daboll as the favorite at -125, followed closely by Rivers at +210, with Klint Kubiak assigning at +500, Brady at +650, Davis Webb at +750, Mike LaFleur at +850, and Anthony Lynn at +900.
Brady Ranks Second in Betting Interest
Bill Belichick also made the list at +1100, while Mike Tomlin is at +2700.
A representative from FanDuel Canada remarked: “Initial odds and early betting indicate that Brian Daboll, a Canadian native, is viewed as the frontrunner, attracting nearly 25% of the total bets. Joe Brady follows closely with more than 15% of the wagers.”
Daboll is also in the mix for the head coaching position with the Las Vegas Raiders. Additional reports from Yahoo suggest that two other offensive-minded coaches are also contenders for the Raiders’ role: Webb, serving as the quarterbacks coach for the Denver Broncos, and Kubiak, currently the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.
