With the MIXI acquisition officially concluded, observers of PointsBet Canada can now concentrate on its anticipated launch in Alberta as that igaming market opens. Additionally, the recent agreement with Playson will significantly enhance its online casino offerings.

Casino’s Thriving Presence in Ontario
With the new integration of Playson’s Hold and Win series through Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform, PointsBet Canada’s game selection will now feature popular titles like Coin Strike: Hold and Win, Thunder Coins XXL: Hold and Win, and 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win.

PointsBet Canada Debuted in 2022
PointsBet is a well-established player in an industry featuring 50 licensed operators and 88 gaming sites.
In its fiscal year 2025 report (covering July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025), PointsBet announced to shareholders a revenue total of AU $261.4 million (CAD $237.6 million), reflecting a 6% rise compared to FY2024.
Performance in Ontario, where PointsBet has been active since its launch in April 2022, has shown promising growth, particularly within the online casino segment.
According to iGaming Ontario, the total cash wagers for the market in August reached CAD $8.14 billion, an increase from CAD $7.56 billion in July. Revenue climbed to CAD $335 million, marking an 8% month-over-month rise (up from CAD $311 million in July). The casino segment led the way with a total handle of CAD $7.22 billion, up 7% from July and capturing 89% market share. The previous casino handle high was CAD $6.95 billion recorded in May of this year.
Players Can Now Enjoy the Hold and Win Series
On the revenue side, the online casino segment generated CAD $267.8 million in August, a six percent month-over-month increase, securing an 80% market share which marks a new record for casino revenue.
PointsBet Canada’s combined revenue from sports betting and igaming surged by 26% to AU $42.9 million (CAD $39 million, a 26% increase compared to FY 2024).
Among this, the online casino’s net win was AU $26 million (CAD $23.6 million), reflecting a significant 39% boost from the previous fiscal year, despite facing negative VIP variance in slots during H1. Sports betting net win also experienced an 11% rise, reaching AU $17 million (CAD $15.4 million), even amid customer-friendly NFL betting outcomes in H1.
