Professional poker player Jordan Cristos boasts $3,768,447 in lifetime tournament winnings (according to the Hendon Mob database) as well as a title from the 2013 World Poker Tour (WPT) Legends of Poker. However, recent events found him merely another defendant participating remotely from the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

Cristos, age 38, faced the Las Vegas Justice Court over alleged threats directed at World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska from November 2024 to February 2025.

Records acquired by the Las Vegas Review-Journal reveal that Cristos expressed frustration over the suspension of his WPT online account, insisting on its reinstatement in return for the removal of disparaging social media comments.

“You are effectively putting your entire team in danger,” Cristos wrote in a January 2025 email. “If you reject my proposal, expect to encounter the legend and the stalker in unexpected ways.”

No plea was submitted during the October 21 hearing, which served only as a status update. Cristos is scheduled to return to court on November 18 to contest charges of coercion while wielding a deadly weapon and making threats of violence.

Reasons for His Incarceration

Cristos was taken into custody on June 4 and has remained without bail due to an unrelated felony threat case involving Family Court Judge Regina McConnell, who oversaw his custody dispute with former partner Sarah Tolagson.

On March 18, Cristos publicly shared on Instagram Judge McConnell’s home address, accompanied by a Google Street View photograph of her residence, stating: “This corrupt judge has taken my children and will pay dearly. I wish for someone to stop her before she disrupts another family. Justice will prevail — and it won’t be gentle.”

Cristos pled guilty on September 15 to attempted stalking via electronic communication (a charge that was reduced from felony stalking). He is expected to face a sentence of 180 days in jail during his next hearing on October 27, with 146 days credited for time already served.

Threats within the Poker Community

Cristos’ troubling behavior is well-documented within poker circles.

In September 2023, he directed threatening messages at Shaun Deeb, a six-time World Series of Poker bracelet holder. These threats followed Deeb’s criticism of Cristos’ behavior during play and referenced past allegations of domestic violence from 2020.

“One more word from you and you’ll find yourself at the bottom of the ocean with cement shoes,” Cristos warned, adding: “I know your location in Vegas. Keep talking, and I will ensure you never play again.”

Furthermore, poker journalist Jennifer Newell (PokerNews) tweeted on September 6, 2023:

“Jordan is a known stalker who has harassed multiple women in the poker scene and frequently issues threats of harm or fatal consequences. If he targets you, please contact the authorities.”

Cristos is reportedly barred from several prominent poker establishments in Las Vegas, including the Wynn, Bellagio, and Aria, due to his tendency for excessive slow-playing and aggressive behavior.
