Reno Proposes New Soccer Stadium with Casino Hotel

The Reno Pro Soccer organization has unveiled a proposal to establish a multi-use stadium complex that features a casino hotel, located at the former Jones West Ford auto dealership site along Kietzke Lane, just east of the Atlantis Casino Resort.

On Tuesday, Reno Pro Soccer shared its blueprint for a 6,000-seat soccer stadium, accompanied by a 301-room hotel and casino on 29 acres. The proposed development incorporates the previous auto dealership along with a retail strip currently housing retailers like Dollar Tree, Grocery Outlet, and Savers.

“This project is about creating something sustainable for our community. It’s designed by locals for locals—a venue where people can unite to celebrate, connect, and enjoy the best of Reno throughout the year,” stated Wendy Damonte, Co-Founder and CEO of Reno Pro Soccer.

If the city approves the project’s application, the initial phase will launch with the soccer stadium, hotel, casino, and a family-oriented entertainment venue, promising to bring new experiences to Reno.

Boutique Casino Experience

Reno Pro Soccer is scheduled to begin play in the United Soccer League in 2027, a men’s professional soccer league that serves as the second tier of the U.S. league hierarchy, just below Major League Soccer. To secure their spot, the team is already accepting season ticket deposits via renoprosoccer.com.

Local businessman Dean DiLullo and his M1Gaming Company will operate the Reno Pro Soccer casino, which is expected to provide a “boutique gaming experience with an integrated sportsbook.”

The combined stadium hotel and casino project will feature over 1,200 parking spaces and adaptable community areas designed for events, meetings, and other gatherings. Visitors can also look forward to various dining options and retail shopping experiences.

Reno Pro Soccer envisions this initiative as a “harmonious, walkable district aimed at enhancing the surrounding neighborhood while introducing top-notch experiences.”

This ambitious project is projected to cost about $350 million, with the aim of welcoming a USL Championship team back to Northern Nevada. Reno previously hosted the USL franchise Reno 1868 FC from 2015 to 2020.

Reno’s Transformation

Developers remain optimistic about “The Biggest Little City in the World.” This soccer complex is merely one of several significant developments in Reno, which is the third-largest city in Nevada, following Las Vegas and Henderson.

Reports suggest that the former Harrah’s Reno is in negotiations for acquisition to be repurposed into a mixed-use property. Additionally, the Meruelo Group is investing $1 billion into transforming the Grand Sierra Resort into an elevated sports destination, complete with the $435 million Reno Arena. Jacobs Entertainment is also advancing its projects like the J Resort and the Neon Line redevelopment.
