The suspect accused of fatally shooting an Uber driver on the Las Vegas Strip last month after a road rage incident had a prior violent encounter at a restaurant where she threatened someone with a gun, as per news reports.
Back in May, the 24-year-old female allegedly threatened another woman with a firearm during a dispute in the parking lot of a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant, as reported by Las Vegas TV station KLAS.
After being informed by a restaurant employee that she had to wait for a table due to cutting in line, the suspect responded with offensive language towards the employee.
Threats and Violence
The suspect then followed the woman she had the dispute with into the parking lot, brandished a gun, and made threatening remarks, according to the report.
She proceeded to block the victim’s vehicle and vandalize it before trying to instigate a physical confrontation.
Subsequently, the suspect was arrested and charged with battery and wielding a deadly weapon following the May incident, KLAS confirmed.
Continued Reckless Behavior
Months later, on November 25, the same suspect was reported for reckless driving on the Las Vegas Strip just before the fatal road rage incident resulting in the Uber driver’s death, according to KLAS.
Prior to the shooting, a taxi driver had warned the authorities about the suspect’s erratic driving behavior near the Bellagio Hotel & Casino. The suspect was involved in a collision with another cab before the tragic encounter on Las Vegas Boulevard.
“He hit another cab, and I pulled down my window to tell him to ‘calm down,’ because I know he was trying to come for me too,” the taxi driver revealed.”
Although initially described as a male driver, investigations revealed that the suspect driving a silver Subaru WRX matched the description provided at the time of the shooting.
After fleeing the earlier collision, the suspect drove through a construction zone on Las Vegas Boulevard and later engaged in the fatal confrontation with the Uber driver near The Venetian Resort.
Following an altercation, the suspect shot the Uber driver, leading to his demise on the strip.
A passenger inside the Uber vehicle later disclosed in a distress call, “It was a road rage thing. They shot him and drove off.”
Further Reports of Aggressive Driving
Subsequently, another driver reported a near miss with the suspect on U.S. 95 shortly after the shooting incident.
“There was a car that almost hit me, and it was swerving in between cars. Like literally cutting cars off,” the woman reported to emergency services.
The description of the vehicle matched that of the suspect involved in the earlier road rage incident and fatal shooting on the Strip.
Law enforcement officers tracked down the suspect at her residence in Las Vegas following the reports and set out to question her about the November 25 shooting. At present, no formal charges have been filed regarding that incident.
The case remains under investigation by the Clark County District Attorney’s office to determine if the shooting was an act of self-defense, as per available information.
