Resorts World Las Vegas, a major player in the sports betting industry, made headlines when it opened on June 24, 2021, at a staggering cost of $4.3 billion. Fast forward more than two years and four months, and the prestigious casino has just announced the enrollment of its one-millionth rewards member, solidifying its position as a leading destination for sports betting enthusiasts.

As part of the renowned Resorts World brand owned by Malaysia-based Genting, the Las Vegas location solidifies Genting’s significant investment in the United States. In addition to its presence in Las Vegas, Genting operates four RW casinos in New York. With the opening of Resorts World Las Vegas, Genting has made its biggest US investment to date and is reaping the rewards.

Despite a somewhat turbulent start with various restaurant changes and a scandal involving a key executive, Resorts World Las Vegas has now found its stride on the glitzy Strip. The casino recently celebrated a major milestone, demonstrating its exceptional progress in the industry.

At the heart of Resorts World Las Vegas’ success is its acclaimed Genting Rewards loyalty program. Members of this program accumulate points while enjoying the resort’s offerings, including three points for every $1 played on slots and five points for every $1 spent on food and beverage. The perks extend to retail purchases and spa services as well, making it an enticing loyalty program for sports betting enthusiasts.

One standout moment for Resorts World Las Vegas occurred on November 6, when the casino announced that Billy Chung, a resident of El Dorado Hills, Ca., had become the one-millionth Genting Rewards member. As a token of appreciation, Chung received the Royal Treatment Package, which included a custom-designed, commemorative Genting Rewards card, a complimentary three-night stay in a luxury suite with roundtrip airfare for two, and a complimentary dinner.

But that’s not all! As part of the Royal Treatment Package, Chung also received four tickets to a show of his choice at Resorts World, a complimentary cabana or VIP table at the casino’s popular entertainment venues, and a free spa package for four. In addition, Chung was awarded one million Genting Rewards points, automatically elevating him to the Imperial tier of the loyalty program, where he will enjoy benefits such as free valet, a 40% points boost on slots, and up to $500 per year in airfare reimbursements.

The Power of Loyalty

Loyalty programs hold significant importance to casinos, providing valuable databases that allow resorts to directly market to their guests with personalized promotions and incentives. While these programs benefit consumers, further research is needed to determine their impact on problem gamblers, according to gaming researchers. One of the first major casino rewards programs, Caesars Rewards (formerly Total Rewards), exemplifies the advantages of loyalty programs for casinos, enhancing the overall guest experience through personalized enhancements based on guests’ play levels, preferences, and special occasions.

As Total Rewards captures guests’ preferences, special occasions and needs, loyalty milestones and play levels, property operators are afforded continuous, often real-time, access to data that enables them to deliver personalized enhancements to each guests’ experience,” the document explained.
