On August 22, 2022, a shooting occurred at Sacramento’s Capitol Casino, where a security guard was fatally shot while preventing a robbery.
The perpetrator, Dawan Pecot, has been convicted of first-degree murder after a failed attempt to rob the casino and shoot the security guard.
This latest incident is not the first time the Capitol Casino has experienced such violence, with previous shootings occurring in 2016 and 2021.
