Circa Sports expands its Las Vegas presence by taking over operations of the race and sportsbook at the Silverton Casino Lodge on January 1, 2024. This move signifies Circa’s continued growth in the Nevada sports betting market.

The Silverton Casino, a popular locals casino in Las Vegas, currently operated by Caesars Entertainment’s William Hill, will now be managed by Circa Sports. The CEO of Circa, Derek Stevens, shared plans for extensive renovations and confirmed that all Silverton employees will become Circa Sports employees.

“It’s a project we’ve worked on with the Silverton for quite a while,” Stevens explained. “This will be another satellite sportsbook within the state.”

Circa Sports aims to launch a temporary sportsbook at Silverton on January 1 to coincide with the day’s college football bowl games. The permanent sportsbook renovations are set to be completed before the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, a widely-wagered sporting event known as “March Madness.”

Circa Expands Further in Nevada

Circa Sports already operates sportsbooks in its downtown Las Vegas venues, as well as in Henderson and Sparks, Nevada. The addition of the Silverton Casino to its portfolio enhances Circa’s presence in the state and strengthens its appeal to bettors.

The Silverton, owned by Ed Roski Jr., becomes another notable addition to Circa’s list. The operator may not have as many retail sportsbooks as its competitors, such as Caesars/William Hill and MGM Resorts International, but it remains a favorite among bettors.

In addition to its reputation as a sportsbook favored by sharp bettors, Circa offers unique attractions to gain market share in Nevada. Its annual NFL contests, Circa Million and Circa Survivor, attract thousands of participants, all of whom must visit a land-based Circa sportsbook to sign up.

As of late July, Circa ranked as the third-largest Nevada sportsbook by market share, following Caesars/William Hill and MGM.

Silverton Joins Circa Sports in Practical Expansion

By taking over sportsbook operations at Silverton, Circa Sports demonstrates its strategic and measured approach to expansion. Instead of rushing into every state with legalized sports betting, Circa focuses on Nevada and states with favorable regulatory and tax environments.

Looking ahead, there are numerous Nevada casinos, including those in Las Vegas and Reno/Lake Tahoe, that may consider working with Circa to enhance their sportsbook offerings.

Beyond Nevada, Circa Sports offers mobile sports wagering in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, and Kentucky.
