Five adolescents were caught following a daring robbery at Tropicana Atlantic City.
On Friday night, the youths confronted a man, with one of them brandishing a large knife. They stole from and assaulted the man before escaping.
Assault and Apprehension
Local authorities were alerted promptly, and with the help of surveillance footage, all suspects were caught not far from the scene of the crime.
Three youths were apprehended on South Texas Avenue, with two others caught separately on Atlantic and Arctic Avenues.
Incriminating Evidence
Police found a large knife believed to be used in the robbery and retrieved the victim’s belongings from the suspects.
The suspects, aged between 14 and 15, were charged with a range of offenses and are now in juvenile detention. Their cases will be heard in New Jersey courts.
Police did not disclose the names of the youths, who are all residents of Atlantic City. The motive behind the crime remains unclear.
